No. Face Rating Lab describes proportions in two photos. It is not a medical or cosmetic assessment and we never recommend procedures. Tips in your report stick to grooming, hair, beard, brows, glasses, skin care, posture and photos.

Two photos: one straight on from the front, and one side profile turned a full 90 degrees so your ear and jawline are visible. Keep a neutral face with your mouth closed, looking straight ahead.

Yes. When a beard hides your chin or jawline, we estimate those points from the visible shape around them and mark every measurement that uses them "est", so you always know which numbers are estimates.

Hold the phone at arm's length at eye level, or ask a friend. Face a window for soft, even light, take off your glasses and push your hair off your forehead. Close-up selfies distort the face, so step back.

Small differences in how a photo is taken move the numbers. A phone held close makes the nose and middle of the face look bigger, and tilting your head up or down changes angles. Use the same distance, light and pose each time for a fair comparison.

If we can't find your face or profile clearly, we tell you what went wrong and you are not charged. Retake the photo with the tips shown and try again.

Harmony is how well your proportions fit together, front and side. Angularity is how defined your jaw, chin and cheekbones look. Masculinity or Femininity, depending on whether you chose Male or Female, is how strongly those traits come through. Features covers details like skin, eyes, hair and brows.

Each measurement is compared with its ideal range and scored from 0 to 10. Those scores and 46 visual ratings roll up into your 4 pillar scores, and the pillars combine into your overall score.

Your overall and pillar scores are Exceptional at 9 or more, Great at 8 or more, Good at 6 or more and Fair at 4 or more. Under 4 is a Focus area. Measurements use Great, Good, Fair and Focus area the same way, and a measurement inside its ideal range is Ideal.

Ideal ranges are target values for each measurement, taken from facial-proportion research. Men and women have separate ranges, and they shift slightly by heritage. A value inside the range scores highest, and the further outside it you are, the lower that measurement scores.

Ideal ranges differ slightly between heritages, so your answer only decides which set of ranges we compare you with, together with your choice of Male or Female. We never guess it from your photo, and "Prefer not to say" uses a broad mixed set of ranges.

Every line is drawn on your photo, so you can check exactly where each measurement was taken, and estimates are marked "est". Results depend on photo quality. Treat your report as a careful description of two photos, not a verdict on you.

Yes. Plus and Pro include extra scans. Every paid scan is saved to your account, where you can see your overall score for each scan and how it changed since the last one.

Never. Your photos and results are not used to train any AI model, by us or by the services we use to run Face Rating Lab.

Only you. Your report is private and can only be opened from your browser, your private link or your account. We never publish or share it.

One click in your account deletes your scans, photos, measurements and scores for good. You can also delete a single report from its page, or email us and we'll do it for you.
